10 Mind-Blowing Statistics on the Effects of Videos and Pictures on Your Employees [infographic]

This is when we decided to make the shift from text-based communication to visual communication.

We’re a virtual company here at Convince & Convert. A few years ago, we were drowning in text-based communication, with a seemingly endless barrage of text-based emails flying back and forth. When we were at our annual planning retreat in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, we decided we’d had enough. We usually come up with our best ideas while basking in the sun over margaritas, and our new focus on ending the text-based email insanity was no exception.

We needed to get our ideas, plans, and questions communicated to each other faster, better, and easier. So in 2017, we starting adding visual content, including videos and animated GIFs, to our emails. New idea? We create a video. Need to explain a new initiative? We create a quick video. Need to explain how to do something? We create an animated GIF with step-by-step instructions.

And I can tell you: IT HAS MADE A TREMENDOUS DIFFERENCE IN OUR BUSINESS. Really, I … Read More

Evolving Keyword Research to Match Your Buyer’s Journey

Posted by matthew_jkay

Keyword research has been around as long as the SEO industry has. Search engines built a system that revolves around users entering a term or query into a text entry field, hitting return, and receiving a list of relevant results. As the online search market expanded, one clear leader emerged — Google — and with it they brought AdWords (now Google Ads), an advertising platform that allowed organizations to appear on search results pages for keywords that organically they might not.

Within Google Ads came a tool that enabled businesses to look at how many searches there were per month for almost any query. Google Keyword Planner became the de facto tool for keyword research in the industry, and with good reason: it was Google’s data. Not only that, Google gave us the ability to gather further insights due to other metrics Keyword Planner provided: competition and suggested bid. Whilst these keywords were Google Ads-oriented metrics, they gave the SEO industry an indication of how competitive a keyword was.

The reason is obvious. If a keyword or phrase has higher competition (i.e. more advertisers bidding to appear for that term) it’s likely to be more competitive from an organic perspective. Similarly, a term that has a higher suggested bid means it’s more likely to be a competitive term. SEOs dined on this data for years, but when the industry started digging a bit more into the data, we soon realized that while useful, … Read More

3 Mindless Ways to Build Immediate Trust on Your Website

Website visitors form an opinion about your website (whether they like it or dislike it, whether they’ll leave or stay) in just 50 milliseconds, according to one source.

Some sources claim you have 15 seconds to build trust with website visitors. Others claim you have 10 seconds.

Whatever the case – 10 seconds, 15 seconds, or 50 milliseconds – you don’t have much time to build trust with the people who arrive on your website.

They click, they look, and they leave just as fast…

Or they stay, they browse, and they buy (maybe).

That millisecond decision all comes down to whether your website is set up to build trust or not. So here are three dead-simple ways to build immediate trust on your website.

1. Add a credibility bar

A credibility bar is a quick, at-a-glance way to build trust with your website visitors.

But what should you put on the credibility bar?

Well, it’s really up to you and what your business has accomplished. On the high road, you can use logos of publications your company has been featured on or market-familiar businesses you’ve worked with. If you’re a new business with fewer achiev… Read More

10 Marketing Trends That Will Dominate 2019

As we close out 2018 and enter a new year, it’s time to look toward the future.

Many of you might be making some new year’s resolutions such as diet changes, workout routines, and quitting bad habits.

But outside of your personal goals, you also need to keep an eye on your business operations. More specifically, you must focus on your marketing department.

Marketing continues to change over time. Each year we’re seeing new trends.

What worked for your company in 2010 may not work in 2019.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying you need to completely abandon or change your strategy that worked in 2018. But you need to at least recognize the newest trends.

It will be up to you to make any necessary adjustments based on what’s trending.

Here’s the thing. Other marketers are already jumping on board with new trends and technology.

To gain an advantage over your competitors, you want to prepare yourself to adapt to these trends before they have the chance.

I’ve narrowed down the top ten marketing trends you need to look out for in 2019.

1. Chatbots

Chatbots and live chat isn’t new technology by any stretch. However, we’re definitely seeing a shift in the way these are being used from a marketing perspective.

Have you seen chatbots recently when visiting websites?

According to stats, 1.4 billion people interact with chatbots each year.

And 80% of companies say they’re al… Read More
